Bus on Monday

I took the bus twice to go downtown (same line, same time) and the ticket machine was blocked by the driver himself. I didn't pay anything.

There's a question: Is it a coincidence or not?
The first option seems a little "big" and the second totally dreamlike.
I have to take the bus in two weeks... I'll see.
